Born and raised on a cattle ranch in rural Colorado, I picked up my first piece of wood as a boy and developed the love for woodworking. I only ever put it down for a wrench to make a career as a Diesel mechanic. I have now returned to woodworking full time and that same love of working with my hands has grown into Wet Mountain Woodcraft, a one-person shop, where every piece is shaped, finished, and inspected by me.

From the Ranch to the Workshop

Growing up on a working cattle ranch teaches you a few things: respect for the land, the value of honest work, and how to build things that last. Those lessons never left me. When I'm selecting a piece of cherry or curly maple, I'm thinking the same way I always have — does this have what it takes to hold up for a lifetime?

Every Piece, By Hand

There are no production runs here. Each spoon, spatula, spurtle is carved and shaped one at a time. The cutting boards are crafted with carefully selected woods. I work primarily with cherry, maple, walnut, for food woods and various reclaimed wood for many other projects — chosen for their beauty, durability, and the way they feel in your hand after years of use. No two pieces are exactly alike, and that's exactly the point.

These aren't decorative pieces — they're tools meant to be used. I finish every piece with food-safe oils and stand behind my craftsmanship completely. If something ever fails because of how I made it, I'll make it right. That's a promise I'm proud to make.
